Hello there, Christian writer!

If we’ve not met before, my name is Jayna Baas, and I’m a Christian author and freelance copyeditor.

As a Christian author, my focus is on my readers first of all. But I know what it’s like to be “down in the trenches” of Christian writing—that’s where I am every day, and that’s where I want to come alongside you.

I’m an author and editor, yes, but I’m not a writing expert. I’m not a publishing guru. I’m learning as I go, just like you. If I can share a bit of that adventure in a way that benefits you, I’ve met my goal.

My monthly newsletter goes out in the middle of each month, and it’s primarily focused on my readers. But in each edition, you’ll find a section meant for the eyes of my fellow writers alone. I call this section The Pencil Sharpener. It might be a word of encouragement, a marketing tip, or a favorite source of advice—anything that may help us hone our focus as Christian writers.

To get started, I’d like to offer you a step-by-step checklist and some email scripts for creating your first multiauthor giveaway, one of the strategies that has helped me connect with more readers and with other authors as well.

As a Christian writer, one of your greatest assets is your email list—a personal connection with readers who really want to hear from you.

And one of the most effective ways to grow your email list is through multiauthor giveaways. Sign up to receive your free guide for creating your first joint giveaway.

If you’re here because you found me through my editing services or from another source like the Writing Off Social podcast newsletter, you may not know yet what kind of books I currently write.

The quick answer is Christian historical fiction set in the American Revolutionary War era.

The longer answer is faith-filled adventures bursting with relatable characters and biblical truth—that just happen to be set in the 1700s at the moment, but that may someday change.

You’ll find out more in the first few emails that welcome you after you sign up for your free guide, but if you have questions, I would love to hear from you any time. Just reply to any of the newsletters you receive from me, or find more options on my contact page.

Happy writing!
